Myanmar National PolioPlus Committee

Myanmar National PolioPlus Committee assists The Rotary Foundation in achieving its objective to eradicate polio in Myanmar in accordance with the Trustees' established policies and goals.

Rotary Club of Central Yangon is established in Yangon in June 2017 to serve its Rotary International's six areas of focus; Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, and Economic and Community Development in Myanmar.


World Polio Day 2018

First-ever Polio-Awareness Public Bicyle Ride, RIDE To End Polio, is mainly initiated by Myanmar National PolioPlus Committee in copperation with its partners Ministry of Health and Sports, World Health Organization and UNICEF on the World Polio Day 2018.

Tun, together with Dr Aye Mya Chan Tha of Ministry of Health and Sports, talk about Polio status in Myanmar and World Polio Day 2018 on the live broadcasting of MRTV 4 Mingalarpar Morning Show on 18th October 2018.
on 24 October 2018, Myanmar National PolioPlus Committee initiated and  celebrated World Polio Day in Myanmar in close collaboration with MOHS , and other Polio partners such as UNICEF and WHO in Myanmar.

Over 800 bicyclist rode around Kandawgyi Lake in Yangon.  In addition to Rotarians in Myanmar, the event was attended by the Chief Minister of Yangon Regional Government, the Deputy Union Minister of Ministry of Health and Sports, UNICEF and WHO Representatives to Myanmar.
